I tried to find out what ‘Remember’ means in the dictionary and I came up with the followings: it means to recall to the mind by an act or effort of memory; think of again,  to retain in the memory; keep in mind; remain aware of and to have (something) come into the mind again.

I was not satisfied with what I got because I know God does not forget – He does not have mental lapse.

I had to do a little bit more of research and found out that when we say ‘God remembered’ we mean He acted on the knowledge of us that He had is on His mind.

A lot of us, if not all of us have at one time or the other had the feeling of abandonment. This is not strange as we have several examples of such in the scriptures but God remembered them.

An example is the story of Sarah in Genesis 21:1 – And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

Also the story of Rachael and Leah in Genesis 30:22 – And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.

Also when  the children of Israel were in Egypt under the taskmasters we were told Gid remembered them. This is in Exodus 2:23 – And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

We also have Hannah in 1 Samuel 1:1-19, with our emphasis on verse 19 – And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord , and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her.

We will be using this story as our case study as we look at the process Hannah went through for her remembrance to happen
1. She never gave up, she kept seeking God year in, year out.
2. She sought God in fasting and prayers , with heartfelt tears.
2. She made a vow
3. She was a meek woman despite all that Eli said she was not rude
4. This made her get the blessing of a Man of God
5. There was a restoration of her joy
6. She then Worshipped
7. She and her husband played their part – Elkanah knew his wife
8. Then God remembered them

And when God remembers, He delivers in totality. Our God will remember us in Jesus name.

You have spoken to Him

You have talked to Him

It seems He is not near

You have spoken your heart

You have told Him your mind

It seems He is far away

For the future seems so bleak

Oh!!! The future seems so dark

That you cannot keep up

I am here to let you know He sees

I am here to let you know hears all you are going through

I know He is there as such never give up

Because His eyes is on the sparrow

I know He watches you

He Sees and Hears, He will come through for you

She spoke rudely to me

She hurt me so badly and I wept sore

She is so self-centered

She does not care about other people’s feelings

Lord you know I love you and want to please you

But this, I cannot take anymore

I am offended and won’t relate with her again

I will let her be – Period! This is my conclusion.

Not long after my conclusion, I heard a voice in my heart saying

“The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few,

For how long will you harbor resentment in your heart which keeps disqualifying you for being enlisted in My Workforce,

Let go, forgive and I will heal you.”

And as I pondered, I began to see how foolish I had been

Allowing trivial issues take my sight off the most important things in life

Dwelling on things that do not matter

Allowing the flesh rule over the Spirit of God in me

I made up my mind there and then to tap into God’s ever-available grace saying

“I will love her again, I forgive her, I let go, I receive God’s healing in my heart”

In no time, those words began to find expression in my life

And here I am, loving The Lord – His grace is sufficient indeed!!!

  • Worry is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do but won’t get you anywhere! So why worry? Just lay it at the feet of Jesus; He’ll take care of it.

  • Never give up, because when you do, you lose out. Therefore, hold on. You will surely get there. It is your marriage. You will succeed.

  • Be assured that what God has ordained for you, He’ll hold together till you take delivery of it!!!

  • Your times are in His Hands because you are engraved on His palms.

  • Our marriages and children should not be left to chance – we have a huge part to play.

  • No marriage or child is too bad for God to heal, change and turn around.

  • Stop repeating the stories you want people to forget
  • Marriage is a privilege, our spouses are not meant to be dishonored or discredited.

  • Circumstances do not make you what you are but reveals to you who you are so you can work on your weaknesses and enhance your strengths.

  • Some issues tend to mess us up and disgrace us, but out of them, God bring messages of LIFE and HOPE if we choose to see through His eyes. Make your choice!!
  • Be patient to see your prayers answered, miracles and healings wrought in Jesus’ Name.
